Matthew Cain is Head of Customer Services,  Digital and Data at Hackney Council. He’s responsible for delivering empathic and simple services for residents and user-centred design and Agile approaches to the work of IT. 

The team’s major projects include developing new solutions to support Hackney housing and homelessness, developing an open API platform and using data to provide better services to Hackney’s most vulnerable residents. 

Prior to joining local government, Matthew was co-founder of a social media research agency.
